One thing is for almost certain, Apple are working on a new iPhone, the 4th generation iPhone. We don’t know of any specs or any information about it yet. Heck we don’t even have a ” Reliable Source ” to tell us when it will be released. But a device repair company has posted a couple of photos up of the presumably upcomingiPhone 4G.
iResQ claims to have obtained the sample part from a “reputable source” that has provided genuine parts to it in the past, parts which iResQ uses for repairing products. However it’s odd that they would get parts to repair products that don’t even exist yet isn’t?
They also noted some interesting points.
1) The LCD appears to be factory glued to the digitizer which is more similar to the first generation iPhones than the iPhone 3G and 3GS. The digitizer can be separated from the LCD on the 3G and 3GS models, which should be interesting to all, but for the repair folks like us–this means that the 4G screen repair price will be higher since both parts will have to be replaced at once.
2) The iPhone 4G front panel seems to be about 1/4? longer than its predecessors
3) There is an interesting reflective, mirror-like surface directly above the speaker. This is likely a spot for the proximity sensor. If that’s what it is, it’s in a different location than previous models.
Your guess is as good as mine as to why the front panel would be any longer and also how iResQ has managed to get prototype panels for the 4th generation iPhone that doesn’t even exist yet but how many times have we got leaked images of products that never actually turn out to be true?
What do you think? What do you think will be in the next iPhone, the iPhone 4G?
Let me know in the comments
