Right guys, a lot of developments have unfolded since I wrote this post so I think an update is in order.

    • It’s been rumored that the next iPhone will not only be announced at WWDC, but will also go on sale that very same day! Now this is unusual from Apple, generally we have to wait a couple of months for the actual hardware to be released.

So to sum it up, the next iPhone will be announced in June at the WWDC , I’m 99% sure of that. The release date on the other hand is still unclear. More than likely however it will be in June…………….the date? I don’t know but going by the embargo on holidays and rumors, a June release is looking on the cards.

When is the next iPhone being released? This seems to be the question on everybody’s mind, and while we are yet to hear anything officially from Apple we can sure as heck take a guess at when it will be. Apple have refreshed their iPhone line up every year with out fail in June or July.

One thing we can pretty much guarantee is that the next iphone will be released this year – 2010, more than likely in the summer. However their have been some rumors flying around out in the blogosphere that it may be released as early as May. According to some French Carriers and their “Reliable Sources” Apple are rushing the release of the next iPhone to combat Googles on rush of powerful android phones like the Nexus One and Droid.

Some people were also hoping that Apple might announce it along with the iPad back in January, but of course that didn’t happen either.

AT&T in the US loses its exclusivity with the iPhone in 2010 as well so we may see it coming to more networks in the US, many people believe Verizon could be getting it next. But we still don’t have a date for the next iphone.

Apple traditionally announce the next iPhone at the WWDC, and this was held on June 8th last year when the iPhone 3GS was announced, it then went on sale on June 19th. So until we find out when the next WWDC conference is, we can’t really take a accurate guess, but I would say June’ish

Let me know when you think it will be released in the comments below
