25 Things We Want To See In The iPhone 4G

I know you all have things that you wish Apple would just put into the 4th generation iPhone. So let’s put a list of them all together!

What do you think of it? Do you agree with it and what do you think are the chances of any of these things being included in the next iPhone? And of course, what else is missing?

  1. OLED Screen – First off, we are looking for a new screen. Yes the screen in the iPhone isn’t bad but a nice OLED wouldn’t go amis. The only thing is it’s not the easiest to see in sunlight.
  2. Biometric Security - Now I don’t know if this is neccesarily something i’m desperate to see in the next gen iPhone, but I admit it would be pretty cool. I’ve got a fingerprint scanner in my laptop and it’s dead handy
  3. Better Sound From Built In Speakers – It would be nice to be able to hear your phone ringing in your pocket every once in a while, give the speaker a boost please Apple.

  4. Google Voice Please – You seem to hate Google Voice Apple, but please, give over and add support for it
  5. More Memory – Every iPhone released to date has seen an update to it’s memory capacity so I’m sure we will see this again. After all, you can never have too much memory. There have been rumors that 64GB iPhones could be coming
  6. Expandable Memory – It certainly would be nice if you were able to add a micro SD card or something so you could transfer data easily and expand when and if you needed to. Not an essential but it would be nice to have the option. Yet I don’t see this happening
  7. RFID – I see your confused faces, it stands for Radio frequency identification, which basically means you could use your iPhone as a bar code scanner or payment method. This would be pretty cool alright, chances of happening? Meh….
  8. Reasonable Tethering Options – I don’t know how Apple have managed to make such a big deal over something so simple, but please just get it right this time. And while your at it, bring the price down a bit.
  9. HD Output – Microsoft and the Zune managed to beat Apple to the mark here and it’s something I certainly would like to see. Right now, you can’t output 720p or 1080i HD video from your iPhone. We hope Apple allows for HD output in the iPhone 4.0 OS.

  10. Support For External Keyboards - Yes the on screen keyboard is one of the best around for a smartphone but sometimes we do need to get out the full sized physical keyboard.
  11. Better App Organization And Management - Don’t get me wrong, the App store was one of the best things to happen to the iPhone, but with it’s ever increasing amount of Apps, your iPhone begins to become cluttered and messy. We need some way to organise all these Apps please Apple.
  12. Give Me Real Bluetooth! – This really has been driving me and several others mad, why won’t you let me send files and things easily not to mention connect with other devices Apple?! Yes it’s great that you support headsets but I need more!
  13. Better Voice Control – The iPhone 3GS brought us voice control, but it’s nowhere near as extensive as that on the Google Nexus One, you cant compose a text or email with your voice on the iPhone now can you? Maybe in the next gen iPhone?
  14. 802.11N – The iPod Touch already has it, so we presume the iPhone 4G or whatever it will be called will have it
  15. Removable Battery – Chances, probably below zero but still you never know with Apple
  16. Compatible With 4G – If the next iPhone  (iPhone 4G? ) had built in support for the 4G networks that are beginning to roll out it would be great as it would really be able to take advantage of them. It would also get carriers rolling out the new network sooner.

  17. Better Camera – Video Chat? – We’ve already covered some news about front facing cameras and video chat in the next iPhone, but it would be nice to see an improved camera with flash, as all the other smartphones are miles ahead here.
  18. Flash Support – We might as well keep dreaming on this one, Steve Jobs has already made it quite clear that he’s not a fan of flash, and we wont be seeing it anytime soon.
  19. Trimmer, Sleaker Design – The iPhone is by no means an ugly device, but it is beginning to look a bit dated and could do with a fresher look, there’s been rumors that the next iPhone will be cheaper to produce and were hoping this includes a redesign as well
  20. Better 3D Graphics – The iPhone already has some pretty impressive graphics, but if it’s to be continued to be sold as a gaming device they need to keep improving them. I say there’s a high chance of this one
  21. Faster Processor You can never have a phone that’s too fast, so keep making that iPhone faster Apple.
  22. Better Battery Life – There are many people out their who can hardly get more than a day out of their iPhone, this needs to be addressed and improved, big time.
  23. Multitasking – Oh, how we long and crave to see multitasking finally come to the iPhone. In fact we all taught Apple might realise the need for it with the iPad, but it turns out they didn’t. It is an essential in this day and age for any high end smartphone, and don’t give me this crap that the processor isn’t powerful enough Steve Jobs! If I can multi task, I’m sure an iPhone can!
  24. More Carriers – Please don’t tie us all in to AT&T in the US and the various other carriers throughout the world. You know, the more carriers you open up your phone to, the more people who will buy it, are you listening Apple?
  25. Fewer Failed And Dropped Calls – Need I say more? While this can be partially blamed by the carriers, even more reason to follow the point above, the iPhone itself may be at fault every so often as well.
