Maybe this could be exclusive to the next generation iPhone, or maybe ( hopefully ) it won’t be coming to any iPhone or anywhere near us. But AppleInsider has done a bit of digging and discovered a patent application made by Apple which shows a wireless display that users would wear on their head in the form of glasses or goggles.
These “Stylish” looking boys show us what looks to be an iPhone being inserted into the goggles, then content could be streamed via wireless to the display for the user to enjoy. The system would adjust the image so that close up viewing would be appropriate. I can’t imagine what it would be like watching a video on an iPhone screen just inches from my face but I doubt it would be a nice experience.
In addition to a display screen, the head-mounted display could include controls, a camera, microphone, speaker, batteries, sensors and more. Which could be used for “unique control methods” while wearing the glasses.
Oh come on, do we really need this in our lives? And would anyone be caught dead wearing them? I don’t think so, let’s hope this is just another of Apple’s ideas that will be shoved to the side.
