According to a report from Mashable, the Next Gen iPhone, be it the iPhone 4G or iPhone HD, whatever it is, is going to go on sale during the WWDC on June 7th. Or so they’ve been told by sources familiar with the situation.
While it’s not unusual for Apple to unveil the next gen iPhone at the WWDC, it is unusual that it will go on sale during it. The release of the iPhone hardware generally comes about several weeks down the line, that was the case with the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.
So according to these sources, Apple are looking to break a tradition, and what’s more, the religious Apple fans won’t be able to camp out in front of Apple stores just so they can get their hands on the company’s newest product days before its released.
We are already pretty certain that the iPhone will be released in June, since AT&T employees have all been banned from taking holidays, we just haven’t nailed down a date as such.
Maybe the whole security disaster with the leaked iPhone prototype has changed Apple’s plans.
Do you think Apple would release the next gen iPhone during it’s WWDC? Would it make sense to do so?
