This Is The iPhone 4G – We’re Serious This Time!

Yes people, this is Apple’s next iPhone, I know we’ve had all sorts of posts going on the last day but this time we’re pretty certain. Gizmodo have managed to land a hands on with the iPhone we saw the other day, it was then announced as a fake but then Engadget came up with some evidence that it was real, though we weren’t convinced.

Now however Gizmodo has taken every precaution to make sure this is the real deal. Not only does it show up in iTunes, Xcode, and System Profiler, but it has different product identifiers than the 3G or 3GS, and when they took it apart they found it packed with Apple-labeled components inside. It was found lost in a bar in Redwood City, camouflaged to look like an iPhone 3GS. And reports have come out that Apple has reported in missing, and want it back, badly…..

So I for one am now convinced that this is the next iPhone from Apple. Gizmodo have had it for over a week and are certain we are looking at the 2010 iPhone.

Well then what has the iPhone 4G got in store for us?

What’s new

• Front-facing video chat camera
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It’s unclear if it’s the 960×640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the “Connect to iTunes” screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic

What’s changed

• The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound
• An aluminum border going completely around the outside
• Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution)
• Everything is more squared off
• 3 grams heavier
• 16% Larger battery
• Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery

It’s a pretty much revamped design of the iPhone as we know it, not the single colour seamless design we’re used to, a much needed refresh anyways.

We’re also told the phone was found running iPhone OS 4.0 but that it was remotely killed before Gizmodo could actually see it, and that they can’t get it to boot because it requires a bespoke build of the OS. So we can pretty much assume that Apple are hot on the trail of this thing and are probably not too happy at all. Poor Steve Jobs must be pulling out his hair! the little that he has that is.

I’m fairly sure Apple know who lost it, they have now also lost their job, Steve Jobs is pretty pissed. Now he is going to lock himself up in his house, completely redesign the iPhone, and when it comes to announcing it we will all be amazed when a completely different iPhone is revealed, and Steve will pretend nothing every happened!

What do you guys think?
