While we generally focus on the next gen iPhone on this site, I think it’s also important to cover some events that are unfolding around the next gen iPod Touch as they are so alike.
Today leaked images have appeared from Vietnam which show the iPod Touch with a 2 Megapixel camera in the back. This comes from the same source that leaked the iPhone 4G the other day as well.
Tinhte‘s photos are showing this 64Gb iPod Touch which has the DVT-1 stamp on the back of it which proves it’s definitely and Apple early design test verification unit.
The hardware seems to be pretty much the same as the current unit, with a unibody aluminium design and the standard 3.5 mm headphone jack. So apart from the camera this model seems almost identical to the current one.

Apple were expected to announce an iPod touch with a camera at last years WWDC but it got pulled at the last minute. Maybe this year it will make it to our shelves. We are expecting to see this one announced at WWDC 2010
