Ok so you didn’t pre-order, and now AT&T won’t have any in store until June 29th, so what do you do? Camp outside the Apple Store? Well 24 year old, Chris Bank , camped out in a tent with a friend on Stockton Street Monday night in order to secure the first two spaces in line. He says he’s never waited in line before for any gadget, but that this iPhone release is special. “I’m finally switching!” he said Tuesday, holding up his BlackBerry.
But there’s another reason he’s so enthusiastic, he’s renting out the first spot in line along with his tent! Yup you can jump right up to the top of the queue!
Bank has two spots and is trying to rent out the first spot in line along with his tent on Airbnb.com for $200! The highest bidder has the chance to be one of the first to get the iPhone at the Stockton Street store on Thursday morning–not to mention the chance to get photographed by the media, which will more than likely swarm you!
And good old Apple have been ever so generous to him, When he was almost issued a ticket by the San Francisco police for camping on the sidewalk Tuesday morning, Bank says “an Apple rep offered to pay” for it.
This is nothing new from Apple, in the past they were happy to keep line waiters comfortable, brining refreshments and allowing them to recharge their laptops in store.
Joe Lobato is third in line at the San Francisco store and is willing to sell his spot, just a lawn chair for $200 cash. He says he wants a new iPhone, but cant afford it!
So now you do have a way to jump the line for the iPhone 4!
Don’t say we didn’t try and help you!
