Now we knew China Unicom were the carriers for the iPhone 4 which goes on sale there on September 16th, but they seem to keep surprising us with a few things. First off they look set to sell the iPhone 4 with a free case to combat the antennagate issues but now rumors are reporting that they will also jailbreak the device for you as well!
This is definitely the first time I’ve heard such a thing and I never would have thought a carrier would do this as it only makes the device easier to unlock and I can’t imagine Apple allowing it.
An article at MIC Gadget claims to have evidence of this, they have a poster from China Unicom which claims that a Jailbreaking service is available with the iPhone 4 and iPad.
Apparently along with free jailbreaking of the iPhone 4 China Unicom will also offer SIM trimming, and installation of “10 hot apps,” although whether those 10 apps will be official apps or Cydia apps remains to be seen.
To be honest I cant see Apple let one of their official carriers offer a service like this, as Apple are completely against Jailbreaking, even though it recently became legal to do so.

The words circled mean “Support Service: Free SIM-trimming, jailbreak, installation of more than 10 hot apps.”
What do you guys make of all this?
