iPhone 4 Still Sold Out In Half Of Apple’s Retail Stores

Despite all of the iPhone 4′s antenna issues, it doesn’t appear to be affecting sales in the US at least. 7 weeks after the iPhone 4 was released, nearly half of Apple stores have none in stock.

Analyst Gene Munster polled 30 retail stores this week, and found that 16 of them had some stock. They also said that several of the stores reported that they are getting daily shipments just to try and keep up with consumer demand. However the situation is improving somewhat, Before July 10, there was no in-store availability, with 0 of 20 stores in stock. On July 26, Munster polled 5 stores and found 3 had the iPhone 4 available.

At this stage you would expect Apple to have stock in their stores since the iPhone’s been available for so long. But Apple have reported previously that they were experiencing manufacturing difficulties with the iPhone, and had unexpected demand for the iPhone 3GS.

I suppose Apple are also struggling to keep up with the continued roll out of devices to other countries.

I’ve just quickly checked stock here in Ireland, and there doesn’t seem to be too many stock shortages around.

What about you guys, have you had much difficulty trying to get your hands on one.
