Apple are set to hold a press conference tomorrow, and while it’s set to be mainly focused on music, rumors are circulating that a possible new model of the iPhone 4 could be announced, with a new antenna to prevent any more of the antennagate problems.
A recent report by Mexican Tech site Canal MX suggests a hardware fix could arrive by the end of September. Marco Quatorze, Director of Value Added Services for Mexican wireless carrier Telcel says as of September 30th iPhone 4 handsets sold by Telcel will not suffer from the antenna-related reception glitch. However, the Canal MX report doesn’t specify how Apple might fix the problem.
Those who buy the iPhone 4 before September 30th will get the original model and will still require a case to prevent any antenna troubles.
So will we see a new and improved model this month? Apple said they were working on it, so only time will tell.
