Verizon iPhone Coming January 2011 – We’re Almost Certain!

I think we’ve all had our fair share of Verizon iPhone rumors and release dates, but for once we’ve actually got some pretty solid evidence on our hands. This latest information points to an almost certain Verizon iPhone being released in January 2011, which also coincides with rumors we’ve recently had as AT&T’s exclusivity runs out.

Techcrunch is reporting that Apple is planning to begin production of the Verizon iPhone in December, which would put that handset on track for a January launch. Apple has submitted an order for millions of Qualcomm CDMA chips for a Verizon iPhone and the phone is set to be the same as the current iPhone 4 aside from a internal insulator on the antenna to fix the antennagate issues.

“Sources with knowledge of this entire situation have assured me that Apple has submitted orders for millions of units of Qualcomm CDMA chips for a Verizon iPhone run due in December,” author Steve Cheney wrote. “This production run would likely be for a January launch and I’d bet the phone is nearly 100% consistent with the current iPhone 4 (with a fixed internal insulator on the antenna).”

So not only will the Verizon iPhone be running on a network with decent network coverage, but it will also have solved the antenna issues as well, so you will be able to use it without a bumper!

And when you put the rest of the evidence together, you can see how this all ties up, the Verizon CEO is scheduled to give the opening keynote at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show, and what better way to open it than announcing the iPhone on Verizon!?

Maybe this time then we have some semi solid evidence of the Verizon iPhone at long last, we’ll just have to wait and see, I’m sure more info will be uncovered over the next days and weeks.

What do you guys think, is it for real this time?
