iPhone 4 Retina Display Superior To iPod Touch 4G

One of the most notable features of the iPhone 4 is its incredible Retina Display which is unmatched by any other smartphone or device to date. That was until, or at least we thought, the iPod Touch 4G when Steve Jobs announced it last week.

We were impressed by the front and rear cameras, gyroscope, a new processor and a retina display like the iPhone 4′s, however it seems that iPhone 4′s is still has the king of displays.

In an attempt to decrease the price/make the iPod slimmer, Apple have missed out on a few things. Firstly the rear camera which shoots video in 720p can only take photos at 0.7MP whereas the iPhone can take 5MP photos

And apparently the Retina Display isn’t the same as the iPhone 4′s. If you compare the technical specifications of the iPhone 4 vs the iPod Touch you will notice that the although the iPod has the same pixel density as the iPhone 4 but it doesn’t specifically say that the iPod Touch has a “Retina display” and there is no mention of the contrast ratio either.

And if you’re looking for more evidence, if you look at the picture below you will see that the iPhone 4 has a much larger viewing angle than the iPod Touch, which we thought had the same display. See it in the video below as well at 00:15 seconds
