The Race is On to Download the 25 Billionth App from the App Store

Here we go again folks with another Apple contest related to downloading iPhone (or iPad or iPod Touch) apps. The App Store is about to achieve another milestone, this time for the 25 billionth app downloaded from the store. To celebrate this momentous event, Apple has again launched a contest that will grant you $10,000 worth of credits that you can use to download apps.

In case you forgot, the last time Apple did this kind of contest was when the App Store was about to hit 10 billionth download. The iPhone user who got the plum more than a year ago was downloading the iPhone app – Bump. The app since then become more popular than it would have normally achieved if it didn’t became the 10 billionth app downloaded.

To join the contest, you have two options – first is to try to visit the App Store and chanced upon in downloading the 25 billionth app downloaded. Or you can also enter the contest without downloading an app by filling out a free, entry page on the contest website. You can enter up to 25 entries per iTunes account, per day during the duration of the contest.
