Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Xbox One was highly anticipated by millions of consumers across the world. Of course, the company itself was just as excited to push its next generation gaming console to the public. Has the excitement died down or are things just now beginning to heat up?
According to an official Microsoft blog post, since launching 18 days ago, more than two million consoles have been sold to consumers worldwide. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, let’s take things one step further: this works out to just about 111,111 units per day.
Here are three reasons to get excited about the Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Xbox One:
1. We are really moving into the heavy holiday buying season. With Christmas a couple weeks away, it is safe to assume that Xbox One sales are going to ramp up even further. While this is common sense, and people will continue to buy, there is one problem: it is sold out at most major retailers. This is going to force people to search far and wide for a console (some may even have to wait).
2. More games to come. In the months to come, we can expect a variety of new games to become available for Xbox One. When this happens, it is only natural for excitement to pick back up (as if it is ever going to die down).
3. Xbox Live is a big hit. This is something that most were expecting, but even Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) seems optimistic about the early numbers. Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of strategy and marketing for Xbox, added the following: “We’re also particularly excited to see consumers engaging in a wide range of games and entertainment experiences on the platform, with more than 1 million paid transactions on Xbox Live to date.”
Xbox One is by far one of the most popular gifts this holiday season. Not only was it a top Black Friday seller, but sales remain robust. Microsoft is refreshing its inventory as quickly as possible, ensuring that customers have the chance to buy and receive a console before Christmas.
Did you expect Xbox One to be such a big hit? Most people did. Most people realized that it would follow in the footsteps of past successes. These are just three more reasons to get super excited about Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Xbox One and what the future holds.
