The iPhone 4 has been locked to T-Mobile ever since its release as they had exclusivity of the device. However it looks like that exclusivity is about to run out as the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the giant carrier is preparing for the loss of its iPhone 4 monopoly.
Their citing several sources that O2 and Vodafone will be carrying the iPhone and their at “advanced stages of negotiations”

Apple are set to hold a press conference tomorrow, and while it’s set to be mainly focused on music, rumors are circulating that a possible new model of the iPhone 4 could be announced, with a new antenna to prevent any more of the antennagate problems.

Even though Apple sort of cleared up the whole Antennagate issue, they still haven’t addressed the issue with the proximity sensor. The problem is apparently a software issue and it causes users to accidental press buttons with their face while making a call which frequently results in accidentally ended calls.
It was hoped that this issue would be fixed in iOS 4.1 as Steve Jobs did promise [...]

Now we knew China Unicom were the carriers for the iPhone 4 which goes on sale there on September 16th, but they seem to keep surprising us with a few things. First off they look set to sell the iPhone 4 with a free case to combat the antennagate issues but now rumors are reporting that they will also jailbreak the device for you as well!

It seems China Unicom which are the official carriers for the iPhone 4 in China when it launches there next month, aren’t prepared to risk any Antenna Issues with the launch of the smartphone.
Sources are telling us that China Unicom is getting ready to sell the iPhone 4 on September 16th with a complimentary case in the hopes to avoid any Antenna issues.

I guess it’s time for yet another Verizon iPhone rumor, and what rumor would be complete without a word in from an analyst?

The iPhone 3GS has only just been approved to be sold in China with Wireless and now plans for the iPhone 4 appear to be surfacing.
The iPhone 4 looks set to hit stores in early September according to a report by MarketWatch and will be shortly followed by the iPad.
