Sure the camera on the iPhone 4 is a much bigger improvement on what was previously available. It now sports a 5 megapixel camera with a LED Flash, HD Video Recording and 5 x digital zoom. But for you serious photographers, this is probably nowhere near good enough for you.
Well how about adding an SLR Lens to the mix to improve things a bit?

When Steve Jobs announced the 5 Megapixel camera at WWDC, some people immediately shot it down since many competitor smartphones have a minimum of 5 Megapixels, many 8 or higher. But then Steve pointed out that it’s not all about the megapixels these days.

Yes, of course this is what always happens. We get told one thing, and then another, well the latest rumor to suffer that fate is the one involving the iPhone and video calls.
We were starting to get some evidence that the next iPhone would have support for video calls because of images and specs uncovered in a SDK. Then only the other day, O2, who are the main carrier of the iPhone in the UK put up [...]

Apparently the next iPhone from Apple will have a 5 megapixel camera with a built in flash. According to a report from Apple Insider, Apple have ordered a large number of cameras with flash for 2010. OmniVision, the same company which supplied the 3.2 megapixel CIS for Apple’s iPhone 3GS has won the contract for supplying Apple with 5 megapixel CMOS image sensors for the next generation iPhone.

Could the next generation iPhone have built in support for video calls? While many phones already have support for 3G video calls, the iPhone still has yet to get this feature. The back mounted camera probably doesn’t help that alot.
