Contrary to a rumor that appeared yesterday, it seems that iOS4.1 will be providing a fix for the proximity sensor issue that users are experiencing with the iPhone 4. Not only that, but it will also fix issues with Bluetooth and speed up performance on the iPhone 3G which has been very poor.

Even though Apple sort of cleared up the whole Antennagate issue, they still haven’t addressed the issue with the proximity sensor. The problem is apparently a software issue and it causes users to accidental press buttons with their face while making a call which frequently results in accidentally ended [...]

iOS 4 was rolled out to the iPhone 3G along with the 3GS and of course the iPhone 4. The original iPhone and iPod Touch however didn’t get the update because they weren’t of a high enough spec. Even so, the iPhone 3G was given a limited version of iOS 4, and had no support for multiasking.
