The iPhone 4 has been locked to T-Mobile ever since its release as they had exclusivity of the device. However it looks like that exclusivity is about to run out as the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the giant carrier is preparing for the loss of its iPhone 4 monopoly.
Their citing several sources that O2 and Vodafone will be carrying the iPhone and their at “advanced stages of negotiations”

Many Apple fans and enthusiast began queuing up late last night, in preparation for the iPhone 4 launch this morning. However, it was mysteriously put off at the last minute, sparking off chaos and confusion.
Thankfully for New Zealand users, the iPhone 4 eventually went on sale at Vodafone stores around midday. However there only appears to have been limited stock available. With one store reporting [...]

We’re still getting over the events that happened a couple of hours ago, and now O2 and Orange have confirmed themselves as carriers for when the iPhone 4 lands in the UK on June 24th.
Strangely we haven’t heard anything as such from Vodafone who are also carriers of the current iPhone in the UK.
Perhaps Apple is giving preference to its primary carriers first? Who knows

Finally, after being told long ago that the iPhone will be coming to Vodafone in Ireland early this year, we have been given a date. March 25th is the date that Vodafone Ireland will release the iPhone 3GS and is now available for pre order here
Vodaf0ne in Ireland are known for having a good network and will be offering 2GB of data a month with all their packages, currently more than O2′s 1GB. [...]
